Media exposed and Indian democracy wounded

Media is one of the pillars of democracy . Media is like a watchdog in democracy that keeps government active. Its play an important role in shaping a healthy democracy . Our great leaders took a foresighted decision and gamble when the granted universal franchise for voting. A country having a large proportion people who are illiterate and socially backward, media has greater responsibility.
Radia tapes had exposed the moral crisis within Indian media. It has exposed how senior and reputed journalist do lobbying for large corporate houses. How they are playing as middle man in corruption and anarchy ? Now day has come when there are paid news and articles . Brkha dutt and Vir Shangvi are also caught red handed . Politicians pay media houses to publish article in their personal favor. It has been rightly shown in the movie "Rann" , how commercial needs and greeds are forcing even the reputed media houses in the dirty games. Now days editor first decide the advertisements and then fill the remaining space with news.
Media was supposed to fight for people , to give a voice who are under represented, to fight for human rights. Media needs to make its house in order before it is too late, before people loose their trust.
Government needs to intervene. There are hundreds of newspaper and channels. Someone has to regulate it. Media cannot be left free to fabricate incident. Civil society or even some one from media should be put to oversee . Laws should be framed to punish those who indulge in things like paid news or use media as blackmail weapon.
No one can deny the credit from media about its good deeds.....like the investigating journalism related to boforce scam, 2g scam, Adarsh house scam and many more. We have to save media from becoming puppets of rich people.
